Great potoo (Nyctibius grandis) (ayaymama) is a large, nocturnal bird found in tropical forests of Central and South America. With its camouflaged plumage, it blends into tree bark during the day. The great potoo feeds on insects, such as moths and beetles, at night. Its role as an insect predator helps control pest populations. Though threatened by habitat loss, it is currently classified as Least Concern.
