The brown-throated three-toed sloth (Bradypus tridactylus) is a slow-moving, tree-dwelling mammal found in tropical rainforests. It has long, coarse fur with a greenish-brown tint, often covered in algae, and a distinctive brown throat patch. With three toes on each foot, it is perfectly adapted for gripping branches and spending most of its life hanging upside down.
Primarily herbivorous, it feeds on leaves, fruits, and buds, moving slowly due to its low metabolism and inefficient digestion. The sloth’s solitary nature and slow movements make it vulnerable to habitat loss.
In the area where our Eco Lodge is located we have a lot of chances to spot the Sloth near to the river sides on the tree branches feedig on the new foliage leafs.
