Iquitos jungle tour 5d/4n

The 5-day Amazon jungle exploration in Iquitos focuses on wildlife observation, learning about medicinal plants, jungle survival skills, and discovering the traditional way of life of Amazonian communities.

If you are lucky, your private jungle guide may spot anacondas, capybaras, giant otters, and even jaguars—whose footprints are often seen during jungle hikes. You will enjoy a Full-Day dedicated to survival activities in the primary rainforest, venturing deep into the pristine and remote Amazon jungle of the Tamshiyacu–Tahuayo Reserve.

We offer comfortable private bungalows, each featuring a balcony with hammocks overlooking the Yanayacu River or the surrounding rainforest. Every bungalow includes a fully equipped private bathroom, fans, purified water, and 24-hour lighting and electricity for your comfort.

Day 1 - Arrival to Iquitos

9:15 a.m. Reception at the Airport or Hotel in Iquitos

Transfer by land (road) and speedboat (navigating the Amazon River) on a 3-hour journey to our jungle Lodge. Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink made from local fruits, followed by accommodation in your private bungalow.

1:00 p.m. Lunch time.

First contact with the wild jungle with a walk of 2-3 hours learning about medicine plants special trees like rubber tree and searching wild animals, like monkeys, sloths, birds and others.

7:00 p.m. Dinner time.

Night excursion by boat searching caymans, snakes and nocturnal birds, frogs, tarantulas, capybaras biggest rodent in the world, anacondas and others.

Day 2

6:00 a.m. Early morning wild exploration by boat, jungle walk, fishing of piranhas, oscar fish, sardins, catfish and others (optional for birdwatching) this activity includes breakfast on board in order to gain time exploring 5-6 hours all morning.

1:00 p.m. Lunch time.

Excursion by boat exploring lakes observation of giant lily pads (Victoria amazonica) and dolphins (pinks and grays) optional swimming with them, and the opportunity to observe the beautiful Amazon Sunset.

7:00 p.m. Dinner time.

Jungle walks for searching nocturnal wild animals like tarantulas, spiders, cane toads, smoky jungle frog, snakes, rodents, monkeys and others.

Day 3

8:00 a.m. Breakfast time.

Boat exploration and jungle walk for searching the prehistoric hoatzin birds, monkeys and other species.

1:00 p.m. Lunch time.

Exploration by boat or walk. Learning about how to survive in the jungle, knowing material items to make a shelter, vines to get water and food to eat.

7:00 p.m. Dinner time.

Free night to relax.

Day 4

8:00 a.m. Breakfast time.

Full Day. Excursion by boat we go to the Lake Yarina exploration in primary jungle in search of anacondas, monkeys, other varieties of birds and mammals. Lunch outdoors. (Optional) fishing of piranhas, oscar fish, sardins, pacu, among others.

7:00 p.m. Dinner time.

Night Excursion to choose on the part of the passenger in coordination with your guide.

Day 5

8:00 a.m. Breakfast time.

Optional boat exploration or jungle walk in primary jungle searching curassow birds, capybaras, sloths and more wildlife. Visit the village San Juan or Ayacucho and have the opportunity to buy handcrafts. Talk about what we do the 4 days in the jungle (recap).

1:00 p.m. Lunch time.

1:30 or 2:00 p.m. Departure to Iquitos.

4:00 p.m. Is the estimate arrival time in Iquitos, transfer to the airport or hotel in Iquitos.

Rates Include

Hotel or Airport pick-up; round-trip transfers to and from the Lodge at the scheduled times; full meals, rubber boots, private bungalow, private bilingual guide and excursions within our protected area.

Not included

Airfare, bar beverages, handicraft purchases, accommodation or meals in the city of Iquitos.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

Our itineraries are flexible, as each solo traveler, couple, group of friends, or family is accompanied by a private guide. Together with your guide, you can choose and organize different excursions, allowing you to enjoy a personalized activity each day.

Our transportation departs from Iquitos to the Lodge every day at 9:30 AM, and from the Lodge to Iquitos at 1:30 PM, arriving in Iquitos at 4:00 PM.

To follow our itineraries, we suggest arriving in Iquitos one day before the start of the tour or on the same day before 9:00 AM. For the return flight to Lima, we recommend departing one day after the tour ends or on the same day after 6:00 PM.

Our transfers are flexible. The land and river route allows us to transport travelers who arrive in Iquitos up to 2:00 PM. If your flight to Lima is before 6:00 PM, we can transfer you to the airport earlier than our regular schedule so you can catch your flight at no extra charge.

We will pick you up from the airport if you arrive early in the morning and take you to the city center so you can have breakfast at a restaurant and enjoy a short city tour while waiting for our departure time to the Lodge (9:30 AM). If you are already in Iquitos, we will pick you up from your hotel between 9:15 AM and 9:30 AM.
