From July to September, river water levels begin to drop, so it is necessary to take an additional boat from the entrance of the Yanayacu River to the Lodge, and vice versa.
From December to February, the Amazon River and its tributaries rise, resulting in fewer walks. During March, April, and May, river levels are at their highest, and all excursions are conducted by boat, as the forest floor is completely flooded.
Curassow Lodge Peru E.I.R.L. reserves the right to modify the itinerary due to weather conditions, changes in flight schedules, or other factors, in order to ensure the safety of travelers and enhance the overall experience.
Reservations and cancellations
To confirm your reservation, a deposit of US$50 per person is required. Payment can be made via credit or debit card using a payment link, Western Union, or bank transfer.
The remaining balance of your excursion must be paid in Iquitos before the start of the tour. In Iquitos, we accept cash, bank transfers, and credit or debit cards.
When confirming your reservation, we will request the following information: full name, ID or passport number, age, dietary requirements, rubber boot size, country of origin, preferred guide language (English/Spanish), flight number or hotel in Iquitos, WhatsApp number, and an emergency contact.
The deposit is non-refundable, as this is a unique experience and our number of bungalows is limited. Fully booking our rooms is essential, and the deposit helps cover costs in case we are unable to rebook a room after a cancellation.
If a traveler shortens their stay at the Lodge, no refund will be issued for unused days.
Dates may be changed due to health reasons or other serious circumstances, subject to availability, and can be rescheduled as many times as necessary.
Changes and penalties
Program changes and start date modifications are allowed without penalty up to 30 days before the scheduled date. These changes are subject to availability.
Passenger name changes are allowed up to 7 days before the departure date. For the change to be effective, the personal information listed in the Reservations and Cancellations section must be provided.
Children policy and rate plans
Curassow Amazon Lodge offers the following rate plans based on age:
- Babies (0–23 months): Free
- Children (2–12 years): 50% discount
- Students (13–17 years): 20% discount
- Adults (18 years and older)
Children under 18 must share a bungalow with one of their parents, a legal guardian, or a responsible adult.
