Rates Include
Pick up from the Airport/Hotel, transfer to and from the Lodge, full meals, purified water, rubber boots, Private Bungalow, Private Guide, free Wi-Fi and all excursions during your stay in Curassow.
We do not include
Air tickets, additional consumption at the Lodge (Bar and tips), craft purchases, lodging or food in the city of Iquitos.
Curassow is only accessible by our private transports. Our transfer leaves Iquitos to the Lodge every day at 9:30 AM. And return from the Lodge to Iquitos after lunch between 1:30 to 2:00 PM. Arriving in Iquitos at approximately 4:00 PM. To comply with this itinerary, you must be in Iquitos before 9:00 AM. and for your last day your flight must depart from Iquitos after 6:00 PM.
Our new route by land and speedboat allows us to transport travelers who arrive in Iquitos until before 2 PM. If you have flights outside the time of our private transfers, just let us know to schedule an extra transportation without additional charges.
ITINERARY
Tour Details
The 5-day exploration in the Amazon jungle in Iquitos. We focus on wildlife observation, learning about medicinal plants, survival in the jungle and the way of life of the Amazonian people. If you are lucky, your private jungle guide might find anacondas, capybaras, giant otters and Jaguars, that it is very easy to find their footprints on the jungle hiking. You will have a Full Day and Survival in the primary jungle, you will enter the pristine and remote Amazon jungle of the Tamshiyacu - Tahuayo Reserve.
You will explore the Amazon rainforest with our jungle naturalist guides to observe birds (over 500 endemic birds species in our area), pink and gray dolphins, sloths, caimans, monkeys (over 10 species in our area), snakes, giant trees and medicinal plants. It is one of the best excursions for lovers of wildlife, bird watching and photography.
Our jungle excursions include hiking, boat excursions, canoeing, sport fishing, visits to local communities, swimming near dolphins in the Amazon River, medicinal plant tour, Full Day and jungle survival.
Curassow Amazon Lodge has comfortable bungalows with private bathroom, 24-hour electricity, fan and balcony with hammocks to enjoy a beautiful view of the Yanayacu River or the surrounding jungle. This trip to the jungle will allow you to enjoy one of the best tours in Iquitos that you can find.
Day 1
9:15 a.m. Reception at the Airport or Hotel in Iquitos, we will take you to our office to complete all the details of your excursion. Transfer by land (road) and speedboat (navigating the Amazon River). This is a 3-hour trip to our jungle Lodge. Welcome drink of local fruits and distribution in your private Bungalow (a jungle ensuite room).
1:00 p.m. Lunch time.
First contact with the wild jungle with a walk of 2-3 hours learming about medicine plants special trees like rubber tree and searching wild animals, like monkies, sloths, birds and others.
7:00 p.m. Dinner time.
Night excursion by boat searching caymans, snakes and nocturnal birds, frogs, tarantulas, capybaras biggest rodent in the world, anacondas and others.
Day 2
6:00 a.m. Early morning wild exploration by boat, jungle walk, fishing of piranhas, oscar fish, sardins, catfish and others (optional for bird watchhing) this activity includes breakfast on board in order to gain time exploring 5-6 hours all morning.
1:00 p.m. Lunch time.
Excursion by boat exploring lakes observation of giant lily pads (victoria amazonica) and dolphins (pinks and grays) optional swimming with them, and the opportunity to observe the beautiful Amazon Sunset.
7:00 p.m. Dinner time.
Jungle walk for searching nocturnal wild animals like tarantulas, spiders, cane toads, smoky jungle frog, snakes, rodents, monkeys and others.
Day 3
8:00 a.m. Breakfast time.
Boat exploration and jungle walk for searching the prehistric hoatzin birds, monkeys and other species.
1:00 p.m. Lunch time.
Exploration by boat or walk. Learning about how to survive in the jungle, knowing material items to make a shelter, vines to get water and food to eat.
7:00 p.m. Dinner time.
Free night to relax.
Day 4
8:00 a.m. Breakfast time.
Full Day. Excursion by boat we go to the Lake Yarina exploration in primary jungle in search of anacondas, monkeys, other varieties of birds and mammals. Lunch outdoors. (Optional) fishing of piranhas, oscar fish, sardins, pacu, among others.
7:00 p.m. Dinner time.
Night Excursion to choose on the part of the passenger in coordination with your guide.
Day 5
8:00 a.m. Breakfast time.
Opcional boat rinding exploration or jungle walk in primary jungle searching curassow birds, capybaras, sloths and more wildlife. Visit the village San Juan or Ayacucho and have the opportunity to buy handcrafts. Talk about what we do the 4 days in the jungle (recap).
