The Nevada Building Hope Foundation, (NBHF) is a 501(c)3 organization in the US with the IRS. Together with Curassow Amazon Lodge, they have been working since 2017 to fulfill a mission, which is to improve the lives of people who live in the towns of Ayacucho de Tipishca, San Juan de Yanayacu and Nuevo Junín. River communities that are located on the Yanayacu River, a small tributary of the Amazon River. The ecolodge is considered the home of The Nevada Building Hope Foundation.
We offer arts and educational programs, medical missions, women's programs and humanitarian aid to this remote and isolated part of the world.
In 2016, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Peru, the directors and teachers of the Ayacucho schools of Tipishca - Rio Amazonas, Nevada Building Hope Foundation created an early childhood education program. This program provides everything a child needs for a full year of education, including: (pants and shirts for boys) and (blouses and skirts for girls) physical education clothing, underwear, shoes (school shoes, crocs shoes, tennis shoes, and rubber boots), backpacks with school supplies. We also provide teachers in all three communities with the supplies they will need for a full school year.
Our jungle projects include:
- Projects for women artisans in 2017 NBHF built a house for women to make their crafts.
- We bring doctors and nurses to communities for health visits.
- We just built the first high school in the area.
